Bitsight has identified nearly 100,000 exposed industrial control systems (ICS) around the world, with the U.K. ranking as the second-largest number of exposed organisations in Europe, with heavy concentrations in the London metropolitan area, Cambridge, and Brighton.
This could potentially allow an attacker to access and control physical infrastructure such as power grids, traffic light systems, security and water systems, and more. Organisations should promptly assess exposure and engage in remediation efforts.
